Munster 2010

Following on from their success in the County Championships, Kenmare A.C. also competed in the first round of the Munster Championships which were held in Macroom on 17th October.

12 athletes attended on the day and performed very well over a gruelling long course – the Munster distances are almost twice as long as those in Kerry with our athletes running 1000m U10, 2000m U12 and 3000m U14.

Kaitlyn Moriarty came 12th in the U10 girls to win the club’s first Munster medal of the season. The U10 girls team of Kaitlyn, Emer O’Sullivan, Elinor Dennison, Cara and Caoimhe Daly were the only team representing Kerry on the day and came a very creditable 8th overall in Munster.

Our second medal of the day came from Helena O’Sullivan who was 10th in the U12 girls race.
