Despite the terrible weather 103 runners turned out for the 5km and 10km events. The Juvenile 1 mile fun run started at 1pm and was won by Katie Palmer with Tim Murphy in second place. Medals were presented to all finishers and the proceeds from the juvenile race were donated to the local branch of St Vincent de Paul. The first three men in the 5km race were John Healy, Alfred Hensel and Kevin Price. Mikaela Mulcahy won the ladies 5km race ahead of Cara Daly and Rosalyn Scanlon. There were only seconds between the first three men home in the 10km race. First across the line was Michael Corbett (St Finbarr’s), Tony Harty (West Waterford) was second and George McCarthy (Farranfore Maine Valley) was third. The first three ladies were Mary O’Shea (Kenmare AC), Geraldine O’Sullivan (Bantry AC) and Lydia O’Shea (Kenmare Tri Club).
